The Metro book series is a source of national
pride. It is not surprising that the games based on the original story of Dmitry
Glukhovsky's novels instantly gained popularity in the expanses of Russia. These games had
everything that is so close to the Russian spirit: a sense of community, loss, and survival.
The post-apocalyptic Moscow subway, open spaces, and the characters' own mentality. Metro
games have always been understandable to the Russian player. But the story demanded
completion.
"Metro: Exodus" continues the plot of the second part. A happy ending is
taken as the basis of the game. The main character, along with the surviving rangers of the
Order of Sparta, goes on the train "Aurora" far to the east to find a new place to live.
From this point on, the game turns into a road-movie. The player has to travel through vast
locations, explore them and fight new kinds of monsters and people. The game has noticeably
increased in scale. In "Metro: Exodus" there are a lot of beautiful outdoor locations, which
makes the game similar to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
